Here is my way to say goodbye to my Leyna-my little Mans Best Friend!

Leyna-Liesse-Von Hauses Manzoni, which means, "Little Angel- Beloved By God - House of Manzoni.

Yes, such a long name for a Miniature Dachshund. However, those who loved her called her "LeLe Girl". She was our beautiful Long Hair Double Dapple Black and Tan.

She was not only a man’s best friend, but a woman’s or child, or cat, or bird...or, or, or... she loved anyone or anything that came near her. Always wagging her tail- I swear even at danger. She had no fear as she just knew you would love her too, and had the most positive nature to guide her way...until today.

No matter what we attribute the loss of a pet to, it is to say the least devasting to us.

I came here to write about Leyna to heal. You see, when LeLe got pregnant after five years we were to say the least Surprised? Then as of last week she had gotten so large I knew it had to be almost time. We had an ultrasound done at her Vet, and there were five babies in her.

The next night the first signs of the iminent birth were beginning so we began taking her temperature and watching her closely. Yesterday she seemed listless not wanting to go out, eat, or drink much, so we watched for dehydration and kept her protected through the night. I moved her pet cage (home since birth almost) next to my bed and listened in on her all night long. However, when I woke at 4 AM, I realized she had passed.

Yes! I am totally devasted right now! I will continue on with my Tribute again when I can see through my tears...please forgive me.
